  • Take a reusable shopping bag with you and don’t accept plastic ones. These can end up in landfill or worse, the sea, where animals can choke on them.

  • Consider bringing a refillable water bottle and water filter or water purifying tablets and keep all those plastic bottles out of landfill.

  • Check if the air conditioning/heating in your hotel room really needs to be so hot/cold and please don’t leave the windows open while these are running.

  • Turn off the lights/TV when not in your room and don’t leave the TV on standby.

  • Save water and save the energy needed to heat it. Reuse your towels and take a shower instead of a bath.

  • Litter is ugly and hazardous to wildlife. Please dispose of with care. Cigarette butts can cause forest fires (a major hazard in hot, dry countries) and take up to 6 years to biodegrade. Please don’t flick them out of your chairlift, either.
